Since 1973, the Tennessee PGA Junior Golf Academy has provided aspiring young golfers with world class golf instruction provided by many of the nation’s leading PGA golf professionals and NCAA college golf coaches. Over 14,000 young people have been introduced to the game of a lifetime by our dedicated teachers.

Academy Frequently Asked Questions

What age students may attend the Academy?

The 2024 TPGA Junior Golf Academy is open to students from age 8 to 17 at the time of their scheduled Academy program. The Academy is open to both boys and girls.  Classes are organized into age groups of 8-11 and 12-17 years old.  Students are then placed into small teaching groups based on both age and experience level.    

What ability level is required to attend?

The Academy is open to students of all ability levels. Students are placed in small groups based on their experience and ability. Our coaches gear each student’s program to that player’s current experience to ensure that they get the most out of the Academy.

What is the teacher / student ratio for instruction?

Our typical coach to student ratio is 4 to 1. This is one of the lowest teacher / student ratios found at any junior golf camp in the country.

Who provides the instruction?

All of the instruction will be provided by our team of experienced Golf Professionals and NCAA Golf Coaches. Our teachers are among the top instructors in golf and have many years of experience working with juniors.

What does the tuition include?

The tuition includes all coaching and instruction, unlimited range balls during the Academy, all golf course greens fees, personalized student manual, welcome gift, special prizes, and student refreshments and snacks. 

World Class Golf Instruction

Our staff at the Tennessee PGA Junior Golf Academy is made up of some of the country’s most experienced PGA golf professionals, along with some of the nation’s premier NCAA college golf coaches. Using proven instruction techniques designed to promote early success, students are taught using a “building block” approach that helps simplify the learning process and provide a solid foundation for future progress. Individual instruction is tailored to each student’s current ability level and experience. Along with outstanding teaching credentials, our staff members all share a common passion for helping young people develop a positive, lifelong relationship with the game of golf. 

Premier Learning Environment

Golf House Tennessee Learning Center facilities include a 19-acre practice range, the 20,000 sq. ft. Vince Gill practice green, a short game area and practice bunker, the indoor Old Hickory Swing Studio with state of the art V-1 video swing analysis, and the nine hole Little Course at Conner Lane designed by Bob Cupp and World Golf Hall of Fame member Tom Kite.

This year’s Academy will be offered in a convenient Day Camp format over four days in a fun, focused and positive learning environment.  Each day, students will participate in three hours of both fundamental skill building and on-course instruction at the Golf House Tennessee Learning Center.  Students will develop their skills in putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play and full swing.  Students will also have the chance to transfer those skills to on-course learning opportunities, while learning key principles of golf course strategy, shot selection and scoring zone performance.
